Lumenis
OPT technology
Optimal Pulse Technology keeps the pulse shape and energy constant throughout its duration, without the energy spikes typical of simpler IPL systems. The result is predictable settings and a high level of safety.
Nine filters – many indications
Filters from 515 to 755 nm plus dedicated Acne and Vascular dual-band filters let you match the spectrum precisely to the target: pigment, vessels or hair follicle. One handpiece supports a broad treatment menu.
Multiple sequential pulsing
Energy can be split into several sub-pulses with an adjustable 5–150 ms delay. This lets the epidermis cool between pulses while target structures continue to heat.
Modular platform
Stellar M22 is a modular platform that can be expanded with further Lumenis technologies as your clinic grows. Your investment grows with your treatment offering.

Questions & answers
How does IPL differ from a laser?
IPL emits a broad light spectrum narrowed by filters, whereas a laser emits a single wavelength. This makes IPL highly versatile – one handpiece can address pigmentation, vessels and hair – although lasers remain more selective for some indications.
What are the contraindications for IPL?
They include pregnancy, a fresh tan, photosensitising medication (e.g. isotretinoin), active skin infections, light-induced epilepsy and suspicious lesions. The full list is in the manufacturer's IFU.
What are the consumables?
The IPL handpiece has a limited number of flashes and must be refurbished or replaced afterwards as recommended by the manufacturer. Coupling gel is also required. Running costs are detailed in our quote.
