Questions & answers
How often can the treatment be repeated?
Collagen remodelling takes several months, so HIFU treatments on the same area are usually spaced several months apart, following the manufacturer's protocol and physician assessment.
How are cartridges consumed?
HIFU cartridges have a manufacturer-defined number of lines (shots) and must be replaced once used up. Treatment cost therefore depends on the number of lines used per area – Future Life helps calculate cost per treatment and supplies original cartridges.
What are the contraindications for HIFU?
Key contraindications include pregnancy, active electronic implants (e.g. pacemaker), metal implants in the treatment area, open wounds, active skin infection or inflammation, cancer and bleeding disorders. Fillers in the treatment area require individual assessment by a physician. The full list is in the manufacturer's IFU.
